Lebron is Changing.......................Numbers?

Cleveland Cavaliers offense, I mean, Lebron James has filed paperwork to change his jersey number from 23 to number 6. Word is that he is changing numbers because he believes the number "23" should be retired from basketball because that belongs to Kobe's Idol Michael Jordan. He would be changing to the number 6 because that was his olympic number and also the month his daughter was born. Two key questions here. 1) Do you believe "23" should be retired from basketball the same way Jackie Robinson's "42" is retired in baseball and Wayne Gretzky's "99" is retired from the NHL? Personally, I don't think it will hurt. If it's not obvious it should be. Michael Jordan is the greatest NBA player ever. Kobe, Lebron, Melo, etc are great players, but their holding nothing compared to MJ. Do I think they'll retire "23"? Not a chance. Should they? It's 50/50. It wouldn't hurt, but I don't think it's necessary. There were great players before Michael like Dr. J, Magic, bird, Isiah, Hakeem, Ewing, etc and there will be great players after MJ. My advice is sit back and enjoy the NBA "ride". 2nd question: Is it really a "news" story that Lebron is changing numbers? The only thing I think is that Lebron only needs to file paperwork to change jersey numbers IF he was staying with the Cavs. IF he were switching teams then you wouldn't need to file said paperwork. Hmmm, showing your hand a little early Lebron? What's your take peeps? Should "23" be retired? How do you feel about 'bron's number switch?

Much Luck,

Joe
