Is Going Bigger Better?

As I'm sure you have heard by now that the NCAA is looking into expanding the NCAA tournament. As of now, the tournament allows 64 teams from all conferences. Sure, their are a few teams who "deserve" to be in and don't make it, but that is one of the things that is the most interesting to me. You can't afford to slip too many times which makes for better basketball games and better competition. They are looking to expand to 96 teams. WHAT?! Ok, I can kind of see it from their perspective. You want to allow the few teams that deserve to make it and don't in. I get it. What I am more concerned with is the 15-20 non-deserving teams that will be in the tournament. You don't want to "water down" a good thing. Unlike a lot of things in sports, I believe that the NCAA Tournament is one of those perfect things. It's the "3 bears" rule. Below 64 teams is too cold. It's boring. There is no "underdog" to root for. 96 teams is too hot. There would be some great games, but I don't want to see 17-15 teams making it and getting blown out for 50 or 60 by Syracuse. 1 to 3 blowouts a tournament is normally expected and i'm good with that. 64 teams is "just right". Everything fits. Don't make March Madness like the college football bowl system where over 50% of the teams play in a bowl. You hear that complaints now about the bowl system in college football. It SUCKS! Too many bowls and too many crap teams playing in those bowls. For once people let's do the right thing and leave the tournament the way it is. How about you peeps? You down for 96 teams or is that way too many ice cubes in this glass of madness?

Much Luck,

Joe
