I think this has as much truth to it as a female saying she seeks "companionship" on Craigslist. According to a story in collegefootballtalk.com, the big ten is looking to expand to 12 teams (currently has 11) and apparently they have their sight on a big fish. That's right, the University of Texas Longhorns. In the story, the Lawrence Journal-World reported, citing a source with ties to the conference, the big ten and Texas have engaged in "preliminary exchanges" for UT to leave the big 12 and join the big 10. As I said before, I don't think there is much to this because of the fact that I don't think UT would leave the big 12 , espcially for the big 10. First off, the road trips would be killer. I'm sure going from Austin to College Station isn't that bad, but I don't believe UT will enjoy hitting that road game to Penn State, Ohio State, Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota. Hello frequent flyer miles! Also, if they left what happens to the Red River Shootout with OU during the state fair and the Thanksgiving night game vs. Texas A & M? Those are big games, no matter what the records are, with a lot of history and tradition. The big downside and more then likely the big factor on whether they leave or not is the power of the all mighty $$$. I'll keep you posted if anything changes. What do you think? Do you think it would benefit UT to leave the big 12 or to stay put? Let me hear your thoughts you crazy longhorn fans you!
Much Luck,
Joe
